Eagle Eye Ride Donates to Yankton Youth Soccer Association
Organizers and friends of the 6th Annual Eagle Eye Ride attended the monthly Yankton Youth Soccer Association monthly board meeting and presented a check to YYSA.
Presenting the check are back row L to R: Renae Kulhavy, Tina Wysuph, Kevin Kulhavy, Barb & Norm Carda.
Front Row: Peg Metteer, Amber Simek, and Deb Lillie, YYSA President.
The “Eagle Eye Ride” is an annual poker run held at the end of June in Memory of Mary “Carda” Simek. The ride has become so successful that the friends and family who have organized this ride every year have set out to help non-profit organizations. They chose to support YYSA this year as Mary’s daughter Amber plays for the Gazelle soccer team and has been involved in soccer for many years.
Mary “Carda” Simek was nicknamed “Eagle Eye” in 2001 when her chairs were stolen at a crowded concert. She searched in the dark and was able to retrieve her chairs as well as a camera that was tucked in the pocket of the chair. Had the camera not been with the chairs she would not have made such an effort to get it back. Mary passed away March 24th, 2007.
YYSA wishes to thank the “Eagle Eye Ride” committee for their generous donation.
The Yankton Youth Soccer Association is an all volunteer organization that serves the youth of Yankton and the surrounding area. The public is encouraged to become involved. Contact Deb Lillie at firstname.lastname@example.org to join YYSA today.

Paul Eichfeld was awarded the 2012 South Dakota State Soccer Recreation Coach of the Year. Dave LaCombe, a member of the SDSSA Board of Directors presented the award to Paul during the Yankton Youth Soccer Association Annual General meeting.
Eichfeld has coached for the past 8 years, with 5 year being in Yankton, SD. He started playing soccer at the age of 5 and continued playing in Pennsauken Youth and High School levels in NJ, and went onto Philadelphia College Of Textiles and Sciences in
Philadelphia, playing Division I in 1983.
Eichfeld continued playing as an adult, and always had a passion in teaching young children in the dynamics of soccer, and tried to keep the sport alive in all areas. He moved to Yankton in 2007, and quickly became involved in the Yankton Youth Soccer Association, and met some very dedicated people in the program. Eichfeld quickly joined in and tried to assist wherever he was needed and worked hisway to U14 Boys Travel teams, and ended up now teaching his youngest daughter, Bryn, in the U8
Girls Recreation League, and hopefully will follow her and her passion for soccer until she reaches the High School Level.
Eichfeld wishes to say Thank You to everyone who believes in what he does, and wants
to express his sincere humbleness in accepting this Distinguished Award. Thank You!
