Yankton Program Information > TOPSoccer

The Yankton Youth Soccer Association is proud to offer the TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) program. This is organized soccer for athletes with special needs; including but not limited to physical, mental and emotional disabilities. The players are boys and girls ages 4 thru 19 years old. Players over 19 years old may still be able to play as assistant coaches.

The emphasis is on fun. The program stresses player development, not competition. Teams are organized based on ability, not age. Practices and games are structured to match the skill level of the player.

There are 6 – 7 games played per season.  All games are played at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoons. The season will run from 4/14 through 5/12.

The games, weather permitting, will be played outside at Memorial Park. If the weather is too cold or wet, the games will be played indoors at the Beadle Elementary Gym or the City Hall gym.

Registration forms may be picked up at the Summit Activities Center or the Yankton Public Library.

We are always looking for volunteers to help make the program a success. Coaches, assistant coaches, Soccer Buddies, and Team Fillers are needed. Soccer Buddies will assist players on the field who have difficulty getting to the ball. Team Fillers are soccer players who fill in on the field when players are absent to leave the team without enough players on the field during a game.
